I have installed using the download from the HP site--no luck.I have done a hard reset of the printer as well. I was so frustrated that I was ready to pay an online service! Thanks for posting. Solution three: Service the printer Contacting HP for service in all countries/regions except Asia Pacific. Solved! I have even tried uninstalling the drivers on my computer and reinstalling, but that does not uninstall the update on the printer itself. Wait at least 15 seconds, and then plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

There is no issue with power from the socket, something in the internal software is timing out IMHO.I have been sitting here working at my desk and the printer suddenly displays It was because the printer was plugged into a surge protector.
