What I was able to do to workaround is:1. You may need to right click each VM, Remove from Inventory, then right click the .vmx file from the NFS datastore and register it again.
Even when the DS was re-named to what it should have been, I still could not create a DS with that name. I did a rescan hba and rescan datastores ... Server was unable to read VMDK file. The ESXi host can vmkping the NFS export IP over its VMKernel network. The volume service name has been previously used and mounted to the host(s) that the mount operation is failing on. I can have a VM console active on two machines, minimize the window on one and it will become unresponsive, however the 2nd machine can continue interacting fine. Any thoughts?
